Edit Several Entries at Once
Steps
XWiki 18.7.0+
Edit several entries of a Live Data in place, with edit mode, which displays every hidden column and turns a single click on a cell into an edit.
Change the Values of Several Entries
- XWiki 18.9.0+ Click the "Edit mode" button, showing a pencil icon, in the top-right corner of the Live Data. It stays pressed while edit mode is on.

- Click the cell to change and set its new value.
- Press "Tab" to save that cell and open the next one, or "Shift+Tab" for the previous one, until every value is set. Each cell is saved as it is left, so there is nothing else to confirm.
- XWiki 18.9.0+ Click the "Edit mode" button again to leave edit mode. The entries are sorted and filtered again.
Create an Entry
- Click "Add entry" in the row at the bottom of the table.

- XWiki 18.9.0+ Fill the cells of the new row, moving between them with the mouse or with "Tab". The entry is created as soon as a first cell gets a value.
- XWiki 18.9.0+ To drop a new row before any of its cells has a value, click the "Cancel" button, showing a cross icon, on its right (or at the bottom of the card in the Cards layout).

XWiki 18.9.0+
Delete an Entry
- Click the "Delete" button, showing a trash icon, on the right of the entry (or at the bottom of the card in the Cards layout).

- Confirm the deletion. The entry is removed from the Live Data. With the Live Table source, this deletes the page holding the entry, which might require specific rights. When the deletion is not possible, an error is displayed instead.
FAQ
Why does my Live Data not offer edit mode?
Because the source of its entries does not support it. For the Live Table source, the author of the Live Data has to set hasEditMode to true.
Why is there no "Add entry" row?
Because the source does not support creating entries, or you do not have the right to create content where they would be stored.
Why do the entries not move after I change a value?
While edit mode is on, the entries keep their positions, even when a new value would sort or filter them elsewhere. This ensures that the entry you are editing does not jump away. Manually changing the sort, the filters, or the page, or leaving edit mode, unfreezes the entries.
How do I save an entry and immediately start another?
When typing the first value of a new row, press "Ctrl+Return" instead of "Return": the entry is created and a new row is added under it.
Where are the entries I create stored?
Where the source decides. The Live Table source stores them under its newRowLocation parameter, with names produced by its newRowNamingStrategy one.
